Nassau, Bahamas

December 26th, 2009 - January 2nd, 2010
8 Days/7 Nights

Day 1
Leave your departure city for the Bahamas.
Upon arrival in the Bahamas, you will be transferred to your accommodation for the next 7 evenings.
Breakfast and dinner is included each day of your stay.

Day 2
Free day today to relax and to get acquainted with the area.
Pirates of The Bahamas
Nassau is the home of the Bahamian national capital, the bustling hub of The Islands Of The Bahamas that traces its heritage back to the shipwrecking days of the legendary pirate Blackbeard. Prized for its sheltered harbour, the city made history and preserved it beautifully in colonial mansions, cathedrals, 18th-century fortresses and a Queen's Staircase whose 66 steps lead to a view not to be missed.

Day 3
The team will play its first series of volleyball games today against a local team.

Day 4
Free day today. You will quickly discover the enchanting beauty of this island.
Linked to Nassau by bridge is the famed Paradise Island--home to luxurious beaches, a world class golf course, the most plush hotels in the Caribbean, gigantic casinos and of course world class entertainment.
Just off Love Beach, a 15-minute taxi ride west of downtown Nassau, is the Sea Gardens, a large shallow area of coral reefs and sea fans. On Paradise Island, walk east from Cabbage Beach to Snorkeler’s Cove. The best reefs and marine life are to be found farther offshore, where visibility can reach 100 feet. Join a boat excursion to a nearby reef or cay such as Blue Lagoon Island (Salt Cay), with its seven beaches, or Athol Island National Marine Park.

Day 5
Queens Staircase Nassau BahamasProbably the most famous architectural sight in Nassau, the Queen's Staircase is a flight of 66 steps that links Fort Fincastle to the Princess Margaret Hospital. What makes it remarkable is that the staircase was not built, but carved out of calcareos (coral-based) sandstone at the end of the 18th century.
The team will play its second series of volleyball games today.

Day 6
The largest of the three forts still on the island, Fort Charlotte was built by Lord Dunmore in 1789 to guard the western entrance to the harbor. Today, it offers a waterless moat, ramparts, canons, underground passages to dungeon rooms, and spectacular views of Paradise Island, the harbor and much of Nassau. Happily, the fort never fired a shot in battle. Costumed and trained tour guides, working for tips, are available to enrich your visit with tales of the history of the area.

Day 7
The team will play its third series of volleyball games today.

Day 8
Transfer back to the airport in the early afternoon for return to your original departure city.
