December 26th, 2009 - January 2, 2010
8 Days/7 Nights

Day 1
Leave from your
departure airport this morning on regularly scheduled airlines for Los
Angeles, California. Upon arrival in Los Angeles, the team will pick
up its 12 passenger van and take the two hour drive south to San Diego.
Check into your hotel for the next 7 nights, the fabulous
Bahia Guest Resort.
Secluded on its own private peninsula in San Diego's world famous Mission
Bay Park, this fine hotel surrounds you with sun - drenched sandy beaches,
tropical gardens and delightful hidden waterways.
Note that some teams may be able
to fly directly in and out of San Diego.
Day 2
Free day today
to relax and to get acquainted with the area.
Perhaps visit the world famous
San Diego Zoo
today. This international leader among zoological facilities strives to
provide the kinds of environments that its more than 400 rare and
endangered inhabitants would experience in the wild. As a result, it has
developed several sections as Gorilla Tropics, Tiger River, Sun Bear
forest, Hippo beach and Polar Bear Plunge. The zoo has the largest
collection of mammals, birds and reptiles in North America.

Day 3
The team has the option today of visiting
Old Town San Diego. The site where San Diego began -
which makes it the site of the first European settlement in California -
is now a six-block state historic park, where original and reconstructed
buildings represent the city between the years 1822 and 1872. Not just
empty shells to be admired from afar, some structures contain
mini-museums or period style shops. A small theatre offers long-running
popular productions.
|
Day 4
First day of the tournament today. Each
team is guaranteed at least 4 games.
|
|
Day 5
Tournament play today.
Perhaps take the 2 hour drive up to Anaheim to buy the
one day pass to either
Disney or
Universal
Studios.
|
Day 6
Tournament play today.
Perhaps visit
Sea World San Diego today. Perhaps best known for its Orcas, this
60 hectare park has dozens of displays housing marine animals from around
the world, including dolphins, penguins, manatees and sharks. It is a
recognized research and education facility as well as a theme park.
A major attraction is Wild Arctic,
with visitors boarding jet helicopter simulators for a realistic Flight to
a remote research station. After landing, they visit animal habitats with
above and below water viewing of beluga whales, harbour seals, polar bears
and walruses.
